Rachel is a strong advocate and litigator who has devoted her practice to workplace law. Rachel provides her clients with practical and strategic advice to resolve, and to prevent, disputes in the workplace.
Rachel has the ability to quickly identify the core issues of a problem, and then work efficiently to address them.
Rachel advises employers on all aspects of employment and labour law, including wrongful dismissals, performance management, occupational health and safety compliance and defence, employment standards, labour relations, and human rights.
Rachel excels at both formal and informal dispute resolution, and is very effective at achieving creative and favourable results for her clients. Rachel has successfully represented her clients before the Ontario Superior Court, the Ontario Labour Relations Board and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. Rachel was also part of the legal team that argued significant cases at the Ontario Court of Appeal and Divisional Court.
Throughout her legal career, Rachel has gained considerable human resource experience in a variety of settings, including the Ontario government, a legal aid clinic, a labour law publishing house, and for the last decade, private practice. This has enabled her to draw on different perspectives to develop creative and useful solutions for her clients. Given her strong leadership skills, she also plays a direct role in supervising and managing work at the firm.
