Christine is a senior litigation lawyer with 20 years of courtroom experience. Her practice focuses on acting both as an advisor to employer clients and, when necessary, litigating employment matters on their behalf.
As a litigator, Christine is regularly involved in matters dealing with wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal, human rights applications, breach of restrictive covenants, and performance management issues.
As an advisor, Christine is involved in drafting various employment agreements, including executive employment contracts, termination packages, employee handbooks and policies and (very recently) providing timely advice on all COVID-19 related employment law issues.
Christine is a shrewd strategist, with an innate ability to get to the core of an issue quickly. She prides herself on getting to know her clients’ businesses and industry. This enables her to find the most effective, efficient and practical solutions to their employment law and human resource issues. She knows that most often dispute resolution makes the most sense. However, she also knows that when a matter needs to see a courtroom, she will take it all the way to trial, if necessary.
Christine practiced commercial litigation and employment law in downtown Toronto with a full service firm for over 16 years. By 2016, Christine decided to devote her practice exclusively to employment law and she joined a leading employment litigation boutique firm. In 2017 she joined an employment boutique firm in Mississauga, and then in June 2020, alongside Ruben Goulart, assisted with the launch of Goulart Workplace Lawyers.
